Welcome to Spring?!?
All of us here in Prescott can attest to this winter being much different than the past few years. With temperatures below 15 degrees every morning and high temperatures struggling to reach 40 degrees, the previous 3 months or so have been tough! Not to mention the amount of snow that has fallen and the length of time it took to melt away!
As a matter-of-fact, the number of days that Antelope Hills has been shut down due to snow on the course since November 1 is more than the last 3 winters COMBINED.
However, as the last 7-10 days can attest, and what looks like a similar 12-15 day forecast, those days are behind us (FOR NOW)!!
With Valentine’s Day behind us, and St. Patrick’s Day and the 7th Annual Leprechaun Open in front of us, the Golf season is fast approaching. When the weather is so warm and the days so beautiful, both the North and South course really begin to come alive. As a word of advice, please make sure that no matter when you want to come out and join us, book your tee time as much in advance as you can. The weather is very spring-like, but between the days still being quite short and the ever-present reality of Frost Delays, our tee times fill up and they fill up quickly.
The 7th Annual Leprechaun Open will be played on Thursday March 17, 2016. As was the case last year, the Antelope Hills Men’s Golf Club and the City of Prescott want to welcome any and all participants who want to join in on this great event. Also like last year, the event will be donating over $1,200 to the Prescott Area Shelter System. There are over $1,400 in prizes, optional Mulligan and other fun purchases and a great lunch included.
For ONLY $45.00 you can come join what is widely considered the “Un-Official Kick-Off Event” to the 2016 Golf Season here at Antelope Hills. If this weather we have had and look to continue to have is ANY indication, this year will be the biggest and best Leprechaun Open YET!
Thank you for all that you do to help make Antelope Hills the best facility in the Quad-Cities! As always, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me and, as you all know, I am in my office EVERY day with my door open!
